Motorcyclist killed on the 91 Freeway
The crash occurred at roughly 5:45 a.m. when a car in the No. 1 lane swerved into the carpool lane, causing a motorcyclist to be thrown off his bike and over the center divider onto the westbound lanes. The driver was eventually hit by another vehicle in the carpool lane, CHP officials say.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, and police don't believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
CHP didn't reveal the identity of the victim but did say he was a resident of Long Beach.
