Murder suspect hiding in Mexico for 5 years finally captured, in Long Beach PD Custody
Authorities have arrested a suspect in Mexico linked to the 2015 murder of Long Beach resident Ruban Martinez Barrera.
Long Beach police said Albert Rodriguez, a 25-year-old Wilmington resident, was captured on May 10 in Mexico with an assist from Mexican Authorities and the U.S Marshals. Rodriguez was transported to the Long Beach City Jail by U.S Marshals and he was charged for murder and is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bail.
Homicide detectives received information that Rodriguez was in Mexico near the U.S. border and began to coordinate his arrest.
Rodriguez is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Ruben Barrera in the 5400 block of Elm Avenue on June 5, 2015.
