LBPD chased six suspects who allegedly robbed a person at gunpoint in the North Pine neighborhood of Long Beach, concluding in a Home Depot in Signal Hill, according to police.

The chase started on Saturday afternoon at 3:20 pm. after a person waved down police officers near the intersection of 10th Street and Long Beach Blvd, and told them he was held up at gunpoint and robbed by people in a red car. Police initially tried a traffic stop to hinder the suspects' car but failed when they sped through.

  • The pursuit went through central Long Beach, ending outside a Home Depot in Signal Hill on Cherry Ave, where the suspects exited the car and ran inside the store.

  • Police cleared the Home Depot of customers and workers, arresting six suspects, five were juveniles, and shoppers were allowed to return to the store just before 5:00 pm.

  • Police discovered a gun on the 800 block of 9th Street, and investigators believe the suspects are linked to a gang-related shooting.
