Update: Shooting on 10th Street Leaves 2 Men Dead

LBPD has provided additional information regarding the double homicide that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Police identified two suspects, both of which were residents of Long Beach, and both died from gunshot wounds to their upper-body.
Police identified one suspect as Jose Perez, an 18-year-old resident of Long Beach. Perez was killed inside the residence from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
The second suspect identified as Sergio Pacheco, a 25-year-old resident of Long Beach, who died sprawled on the street agonizing from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
Police are saying one of the residents and Pacheco knew each other and were "at one time associates" and that "both Pacheco and Perez arrived at the residence unannounced, forced their way inside and assaulted the two residents". During the confrontation, one of the residents opened fire, striking both Perez and Pacheco.
The residents involved have been cooperating with the investigation, police say.
Due to the residents possibly being the victim of a crime, their identity is not being released to the public.
The motive for the incident is currently under investigation
Two men were reportedly gunned down on 10th and Orange, by a man alleging the two were breaking into his home in the Hellman neighborhood of Long Beach earlier today, per LBP.
LBPD officers arrived at the scene minutes after midnight, upon receiving a call from a resident who said he shot a person who had broken into his home, LBPD said. Officers found one man, inside the caller’s house, with a gunshot wound to his upper body, who later died at the scene, and a second man was discovered a block away also with a gunshot wound and dying at the scene.
The police have not released the identity of the two descended, nor the person who made the call. The caller is currently being held in detention while an investigation is ongoing.
