Standoff ends after 4-hours with the arrest of a Long Beach woman.
A Long Beach woman was arrested after an hours-long standoff with the LBPD in the Zafira area of Long Beach Monday afternoon, per the LB Post.
Police received a call about 3:30 p.m. of a woman who trespassed into a garage on the 1000 block of Grand Avenue, armed with a handgun, according to a Long Beach Police Department statement.
A male resident told police the suspect was aiming her weapon at him.
Police called in the SWAT team after the suspect barricaded herself in the garage for about four hours.
Residents in the area were ordered to evacuate or shelter in place while a SWAT team attempted to apprehend the suspect.
Police say the man and woman didn't have any prior relationship before the incident, and officers had to use "chemical agent and an arrest hold," to subdue the suspect.
The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Long Beach resident Ashley Nichelle Inscho.
After a medical examination, Inscho was charged with trespassing and assault with a firearm. Her bail was set at $50,000.
