Suspect under arrest after shooting at police on 4th Street in Long Beach
A man fired shots at police as they were responding to a 911 call regarding a non-hit shooting early Thursday morning at a bar on 4th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department, per multiple reports.
Police reported to the 1200 block of East 4th Street due to reports of a person firing a gun at the Red Room bar at about 2 a.m.
The male suspect opened fire on the arriving officers, and a standoff ensued.
The LBPD SWAT team was called to the scene, and the suspect was apprehended a few hours later. Police didn't release the suspect's identity.
Police say no one was injured during the altercation and the precise circumstances of the shooting were still unclear.
During the incident, several streets were shut down on East 4th Street and Orange Avenue.
