The Nations Largest Nurses Union Endorses Bernie Sanders For President, Over Warren
National Nurses United, the largest registered nurses union in the United States, will endorse the US Senator Bernie Sanders for president, per the New York Times.
Bernie Over Warren:
Both Sanders and Warren offer a universal healthcare program, but Sanders was able to edge out Warren on the endorsement.
Sen. Sanders was the only presidential candidate to meet the powerful union in-person.
Support from the nurses union also means support from its Super Pac, an issue Senator Sanders insisted he won’t rely on super PACs in his bid to win the White House.
The union cited Sanders's #MedicareForAll proposal as one of the reasons it was supporting Senator Sanders' second White House bid.
The National Nurses United supported Senator Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton, not only with $5 million in PAC money but also canvassing for the Sanders campaign in competitive states.
The union plans on formally endorsing Sanders in Oakland later this Friday.
Senator Sanders also picked up the endorsement of TYT's host Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian.
