Victim told officers he was shot in Bixby Knolls, LBPD say

A man told officers he was shot Sunday night after being robbed by an armed suspect, as first reported by the LB Post.
Details:
LBPD officers responded to the 3700 block of Long Beach Boulevard in Bixby Knolls at roughly 6:30 p.m. regarding a shooting and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
The victim told the arriving officers that he was robbed near the 2600 block of East 56th Way.
LBPD spokesperson Brandon Fahey told the Post that a confrontation escalated into a shooting and officers found evidence that a shooting did occur.
LBFD transported the victim to a nearby hospital.
