Widow of port worker files wrongful death lawsuit against the City of LB

The widow of a worker, who died when a vehicle struck him in January, has filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the City of Long Beach, the LB Post reports.

Pattama Ang, the wife of a 64-year-old clerk at the Port of Long Beach, Chulaih Ang, was killed in January when a vehicle struck him.

  • In the lawsuit, Mrs. Ang alleges her husband worked in “dangerous conditions,” formed by the City, as a clerk who had the responsibility to find containers to be relocated.

  • She also asserts in her suit that the City failed to erect warning signs or place safety labels.

  • Ang is also suing the company that operates the large bird shape cranes.
