According to authorities, a woman was struck and killed by a Scion while lying under a pile of blankets in a Long Beach parking spot Monday morning.

Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Long Beach Boulevard, at roughly 10:42 a.m., regarding a traffic collision concerning a pedestrian. When police arrived, they came upon an injured woman who would later die at the scene, even after paramedics performed medical aid.

  • Police maintain the woman was resting under a clump of blankets when a 2010 Scion XB struck her.

  • The driver was described as a 27-year-old man from Los Angele, and that he remained at the scene cooperating with the investigation.
